If you haven't heard Canada's postal system is facing a potential strike in the next few weeks. Since all of our shipments are sent via Canada Post a shut down will obviously be a major problem for us. To that end we wanted to give you a sense of how we plan to handle things in the event of a strike.
Week 1 & 2 - In the event of a strike we will put up a banner on homepage to let people know about the situation but our plan for the first two weeks is to simply let the orders pile up for shipment once the strike is resolved. Our assumption is that any Canada Post strike will be short so we will likely be back in business within a few days or a week at most. Orders will be delayed as a massive glut of mail hits the system but we should be back to normal quickly. Obviously we will refund any order that hasn't shipped if asked.
Week 3 - In the unlikely event that the strike lasts more than two weeks we intend to stop taking new orders from customers and email customers offering refunds on any orders that have not been shipped. Any subscriptions will be put on hold until the strike resolves.
